God’s Divine Provision

Updated: Nov 19

I have come to trust and rely on God's complete provision. When God says to trust in me with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, I think we should really take it seriously.

I went to church one day and just realized something severe. The church had been praying for money to buy a car for the pastor and had been asking members, members who ordinarily could never afford such a car to contribute. That day at church, there was a visitor, and this visitor after hearing the announcement for people to come and sew and give decided to also sew a seed by paying the remaining portion of the money for the Pastor’s car.

One key thing I learnt was about the provision of God. God is the source of all wealth and it is never by our efforts that we can get anything. Yes this church prayed but you realize that they started asking their church members, time and time again. I’m sure they almost gave up because of the percentage of money they had received from the original money and this was because they relied on their efforts and then this man gave the money. What I realized that day is that God can cause money to come from any source. Sources that you least expect, places that are not close to you. All you need do is be committed to God and trust completely in him.

It’s imperative that while you have prayed, your mindset is one of complete focus on God and not on anyone else. Yes they had to ask members of the church and that’s how the visitor even got to hear about it and even gave but while you ask, is your focus on the members of the church or God? Trust that as you have done what you physically can, your trust is not in your efforts or the fact that there are some people around you who you think can help you but that you have a God who is the source of all wealth and can completely make a way where there seems to be no way.

You probably go to work each day, giving off your best, and are probably close to the partner or owners of the business and of course, you’re hoping and praying for a promotion. I want to encourage you to continue to give your best but not to focus your attention on your efforts or your closeness to the owners, your attention needs to be on God completely and trust in Him and his unending source of wealth and resources. Believe in his glorious plan for your life and see how things turn out.

When you ask and your focus is on God, he can surprise you from sources that you least expected and from places that you could have never imagined. That is what our God can do. The Bible says in Psalm 121:1-2, I will lift my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help, my help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. I have learnt that as I ask and trust in God, especially when it is in line with his will, it will come to pass. Maybe not in line with my timing but he will provide in His perfect timing.

TRUST COMPLETELY AND SEE GOD’S DIVINE PROVISION. GOD’S DIVINE PROVISION IS NOT BASED ON OUR EFFORTS. AS WE DO OUR BEST, OUR FOCUS MUST BE ON GOD AND NOT OUR ABILITIES OR EFFORTS!
